Digitalni arhiv Golovec vsebuje slike neba posnete s CCD kamero na observatoriju od leta 1990 dalje. Slike hranimo v originalni fits obliki, stisnjene brez izgub z algoritmom 'LZ77' (gzip) v obicajnem datotecnem sistemu 'ext3' in indeksirane v postgres relacijski bazi. Kvaliteta slik je v celoti ohranjena. V arhivu so samo slike, ki imajo popolne podatke o opazovanju.
