Rosat image of the Pleiades in X-rays. Colors represent different X-ray colors (energy bands): lowest energies red, intermediate green, highest blue. The optically brightest stars are indicated by the green squares. The brightest X-ray stars are those with the hottest atmospheres or coronas.
