Compare the Hubble image of the Crab Nebula's filaments (right) with an Earthbound one (from Palomar):

[M1, 3-color Palomar] [Med-res Filaments Image]

The region photographed by the Hubble Space Telescope may be identified in the Palomar image; it is the region to the upper right from the pulsar near the center. The pulsar can just be identified in the Hubble image.
